Introduction to Molchanovs Wave 3 Instructor
The Molchanovs Wave 3 instructor course will expand your teaching abilities by allowing you to train advanced freedivers certifying them as Lap 3/ Wave 3 students. You will spend 3 full days with our experienced Instructor Trainers Ben and Thibault who will share their experience both as trainers and deep divers. By the end of this course, you will have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently teach advanced freediving skills such as Mouthfill equalization, FRC diving, and mental preparation techniques.

Prerequisites
- Being 18 years old of age
- Being certified Molchanovs Wave 2 instructor or taking a crossover evaluation with equivalent certification
- Having issued at lest 50 certifications (min. 10 Wave 1 and min. 10 Wave 2). Theory certifications and certifications from other agencies are counted as half a certification
- Having at least 1 year of teaching experience as a Lap 2/ Wave 2 Instructor (or equivalent in other agencies)
- Having a CPR/First Aid certificate no older than 2 years old
Theory
- Teaching Mouthfill equalization
- Teaching FRC diving
- Teaching advanced mental techniques
Passing Requirement
- Attend the classroom sessions
- Pass the Final Exam
- Passing one dry skill presentation
- Passing 1 confined water skill presentations
- Passing 1 open water skill presentations
Performance Requirements
Confined Water
STA 4min 30sec
Complete a Static breath hold
of minimum 4 minutes and 30 seconds
DYN 110m
Perform a horizontal dive
of 110m using bi-fins
DNF 75m
Perform a horizontal dive
of 75m without fins
Open Water
CWTB 50m
Perform a comfortable dive
to 50m using bi-fins
CNF 35m
Perform a comfortable dive
to 35m without fins
20m stand-by (1min) rescue
Demonstrate correct rescue procedures after a one minute standby at 20m
FRC dive 20m
Perform a FRC dive to 20m charging your mouthfill at the surface
30m rescue with 50m tow
Demonstrate correct rescue procedures in freediving emergency scenario from a depth of 30m including a surface tow of 50m
CO2 dive
Perform a 25m CWTb dive after finning on the surface for one minute with the arms above the head
FAQ's on Molchanovs Wave 3 Instructor
You are eligible for an instructor crossover for sure. If you have enough certifications, you can combine crossover and upgrade in one course. Contact us for more details.
You will be allowed to teach Lap 1/ Wave 1, Lap 2/ Wave 2 and Lap 3/ Wave 3 courses.
Although we strongly advise to be comfortable with the performance requirements, if you cannot complete all the performance requirements during the course because of stress or sickness, you have one year to validate them. You can book some training sessions with us for this.
